I found the problem: The site descriptor code shown as an example in the book and the one provided with the downloaded archive are different. In the downloaded one there are <menu ref="..."/> tags that the site generator doesn't seem to understand. I've replaced them with what is in the PDF, and it works fine now.

At the end of chapter 3, when I generate the proficio's site, I get $menu.getAttribute( "name" ) references in the side menu instead of "About proficio" and "Project documentation" menus. Is that normal ?
