hello peter, yes, you r perfectly right.. as long as you stick with WAS/RAD everything is done for you. /as soon as you try to be little more 'open sourced' here comes troubles.
and, yes, you r right again, WAS/RAD generates binding files for references etc, they are called ibm-ejb-access-bean.xmi, ibm-ejb-jar-bnd.xmi and ibm-ejb-jar-ext.xmi, i guess generated automatically by your RAD. I m not sure, but you might want to check if xdoclet has something for you for IBM binding files.... frankly speaking i never liked IDE that does everything.. i m trying to convert some of our projects to use m2 and JBoss cos i m sick of hardcoded environments.. but it's little pain :( good luck, i surely let you know if i find something regards marco On 8/7/06, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

So it sounds like that WebSphere makes it harder to deploy EJB without using the wizards and IDEs. I am beginning to come to the same conclusion to launch Ant from M2, except I am unsure the name of the ant task to call. I am getting a dependency missing when I deploy a pure EAR that was build from the maven-ejb-plugin and maven-ear-plugin. I suspect that EAR and EJB-JAR requires a Websphere extensions ( e.g an ejb-jar-ext.xml and ejb-jar-bnd.xml meta file) However if you ever find that script let me know > hth > marco ==////== -- Peter Pilgrim UBS Investment Bank, PTS Portal / IT FIRC OPS LDN, 100 Liverpool Street, London EC2M 2RH, United Kingdom :: Java EE / E-Commerce / Enterprise Integration / Development :: Visit our website at http://www.ubs.com This message contains confidential information and is intended only for the individual named.
