Yes, exactly, this was the need for developping Artifactory. We used the maven-proxy, but we found ourselves dealing with too many issues: - Local deployment (in the enterprise) to different local repo (plugins and different applications); - Deployment Security access; - NTLM web proxy; - Deploying and deleting artifacts from the web interface; - ...
