Hello San, When you are new to maven, perhaps you start by using Maven 2.0.x (2.0.8 as the current latest release) Maven 2 has a lot of improvements over Maven 2 and the documentation on the maven site, which is quite good for getting started, is mainly about Maven 2 these days.
Most of your configuration will be in the pom.xml for your projects. (http://maven.apache.org/guides/introduction/introduction-to-the-pom.htm l) Although a lot of things you will not need to specify if you use the standard directory layout.
