Actually I can think of one factor that might have contributed... I deleted that particular module off the filesystem, then updated and scanned, because I was testing something and not seeing what I thought I should see. So having cleaned it out, I published the artifact again, and it failed to appear in the browse screen.
I wonder if Archiva's internal state showed that the artifact had already been indexed, therefore it detected no need to index again?
