We recently had to reconfigure the network internally after a firewall died, and the dependency report on the build server now takes a very, very long time. I'm suspicious that it's something to do with the network reconfiguration, but doing some "apache bench" calls to things like repo1.maven.org seems to imply that while the connection to those isn't incredibly fast, it's still working, and it's not incredibly slow either. Yet, when I run the dependency report with -X, I can see it's connecting to a bunch of repos and taking a long time with each one, so I'm a little lost as to why that's happening and what I can do to speed the thing up
We're mirroring with Nexus to boot, so I'm not sure if it's actually going to the remote repo or just looking like it in the log files (see below): http://people.apache.org/repo/m2-incubating-repository/ - Session: Opened http://people.apache.org/repo/m2-incubating-repository/ - Session: Disconnecting http://people.apache.org/repo/m2-incubating-repository/ - Session: Disconnected http://repository.codehaus.org - Session: Opened http://repository.codehaus.org - Session: Disconnecting http://repository.codehaus.org - Session: Disconnected Suggestions? - Geoffrey -- Geoffrey Wiseman
