I won't take all the credit. Several of the Sonatype gang hopped in and
Brett helped me out once we suspected Artifactory (I initially pinged
him because I knew Q4E was a consumer...didn't know about Artifactory).

Certainly not intentional...

>* Why did you inform about the new version of Nexus coming-soon?

The intent of that paragraph was to point out that there is an API jar
available for Index operations already used by other projects. The
indexer is ASL so it can be used by all interested projects. The
incremental indexing was always intended but it is just now getting
done. Without using the API, it will be difficult for everyone to keep
in sync with the format and especially transport and merging of the
incrementals. FWIW, I have already emailed Yoav separately with this
information and an offer to assist the integration effort if it's
decided to be used.

I do not have any bad feelings. While this bug was unfortunate and
caused us plenty of grief, accidents happen. My goal was to contain the
damage in an open way. If it sounded differently, then I apologize not
being clearer.

I cross posted this originally to several lists because of the urgency
in getting the message out. It's probably better if we continue any
further discussions on this thread in just one place, the
artifactory-user list is fine with me and let everyone else have their
peace ;-)
