This is the chase through the bug I did yesterday. There's a file in there that's a Chinese dialect (supposedly - I haven't personally gone in to look). I do remember (however) deleting that file and repackaging and NOT having any issues after that.
Also, we do not explicitly have this called out as a dependency in any of our poms, it's coming from jaxen: +- jaxen:jaxen:jar:1.1-beta-11:provided | +- jdom:jdom:jar:1.0:provided | \- xom:xom:jar:1.0b3:provided | +- xerces:xmlParserAPIs:jar:2.6.1:provided | +- com.ibm.icu:icu4j:jar:2.6.1:provided | \- org.ccil.cowan.tagsoup:tagsoup:jar:0.9.7:provided Updating Jaxen to the latest still doesn't resolve this. The only way I can successfully get this working is put in an exclusion on icu within the jaxen dependency. -----Original Message----- From: Wayne Fay [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, March 19, 2009 5:57 PM To: Maven Users List Subject: Re: Exception during dependency report creation > [WARNING] Unable to process class > com/ibm/icu/impl/data/LocaleElements_zh__PINYIN.class in JarAnalyzer > File E:\work\m2Repo\com\ibm\icu\icu4j\2.6.1\icu4j-2.6.1.jar > org.apache.bcel.classfile.ClassFormatException: Invalid byte tag in This is simply a bad jar/classfile. You'll need to specify a newer/fixed version of this dependency.
