If a particular artifact is not available in any public repository, you have a few options (in order of best to worst option): 1) If you have a corporate repo, "mvn deploy:deploy-file" it there, or deploy via Web admin tools (eg Nexus) 2) "mvn install:install-file" it to your local repo cache 3) Specify scope "system" and set the <systemPath/> In the meantime, I'd also email the Saxon guys and ask them to deploy their latest versions to Central.
