Hello,
Hi,
I'm evaluating MINA for an enterprise application and I'd like to get some
opinions regarding the stability of MINA 2.
FYI, MINA stability is to be meant by "API stability". MINA 2 is solid.
The application I'm developing
is scheduled to be deployed within a production environment by Apr. 1,
2009. I would like to consider version 2 as it obviously represents the
future of MINA development.
That's clear !
However, it will need to be ready for
production by next April. Is there a consensus on when MINA 2 might be
formally released?
Nope. An dyou won't get any guarantee whatsoever that we will release
MINA 2.0 before this date, even if we think it will be the case.
Now, you can also consider that if you use an intermediate version (ie,
a Release Candidate, or even a Milestone), it will be pretty ok. The
problem will be that until we reach a RC status, the API could change.
Last, not least, if you start using MINA 2.0 now, you will most
certainly benefit from the existing community which wil be around to
help you if you have some problem. MINA 2 in its current state is much
better than MINA 1.1 and its performance is also better.
Hope it helps !
Thanks much,
Cameron Ross
