My plan was actually to take a look at the java-interface for imagemagick which is existing too. So, a third implementation of ImageConverter. I've no idea if that would enables us to add texts to images decently, but one would say so... I'm not even sure that this library is not calling Runtime.exec, but I suppose that it's not...
