OK. I've spent a few days looking over things in more detail. I would like to help and I'm going to start submitting some patches (and ideas for patches.) Please bear with me as I get up to speed with JSF and MyFaces. This will also be an excellent exercise for me to get familiar with the architecture of JSF in general. I submitted a couple of enhancements related to this to JIRA (I haven't seen the emails on the dev list yet though.) My first enhancment (http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-69) deals with general housekeeping that would be nice to have done in advance of the changes that I anticipate are necessary.
