Hi,
 
Can you tell me which version are you using? I put the simple.war in my tomcat and modified the lib directories to contain all the jar files mentioned below(except for JSP2.0, I'm running on tomcat5.5), use the same XML file as yours and access the tree page using
http://localhost:8090/simple/tree2.jsf
All I get is a blank content like this
