My personal gues is, it will be mostly an issue whether the ASF will
accept the CDDL as apache 2 compatible or not...
What is the latest status on that issue?

Like so many others I have been searching the web for a good templating/rendering engine, and have read about several competing technologies including, Tapestry, Clay, and Facelets. Choosing one of theese technologies is hard, I think, but of course the choice would be much simpler if the MyFaces developers chose to integrate one of these technologies into MyFaces. For what I have read, none of the technologies have a very plug-and-play feel in combination with MyFaces. As an example, if you want to use Facelets, you need to manually tie Facelets to Tomahawk using some additional xml code to take advantage of the MyFaces Tomahawk components - this is of course something which could work out of the box, had Facelets been an integrated part of MyFaces.

Then, in the mailing list archives I came accross some e-mails which indicated that Facelets might become a standard, integrated part of MyFaces. I find that very interesting. I cannot say whether Tapestry, Clay, or Facelets would be the right choice, but from a MyFaces user's perspective it would make a great difference if at least one of these technologies where supported out of the box.

Could anyone share their thoughts about this?
