that is always sorta expensive to migrate stuff from "A" to "B".
Keep MyFaces/Tiles and try facelets in a new project.

That's fine! As said again. Tiles support will continue.
I think also looking into Tiles2 will be *interesting* for us
(no idea, when final)

I think this is really untrue; facelets only work if you have the appropriate 
tag libraries that support facelets.

If you're using displaytag or any of the long list of other custom jsp tag 
libraries (including home-grown tag libs), you're going to be in for a big 
surprise when moving to facelets.

This is the biggest hurdle when talking about migrating from JSP to facelets, 
and should never be brushed aside as simple config work.
