Thanks for your replies. Only after trying everything i wrote this mail. What you have suggested has been tried but it does not work when there are validation messages on the page.
I even tried methods for forcing a new view as mentioned in the myfaces wiki but it does not work when the screens have tabs and it also does not work in pop ups. I do not want to traverse the entire tree for the page and reset controls. Therefore i asked if there was a way in which messages can be removed from the list. Any help will be appreciated.
