In general these can be mirrored without the source list even knowing, Over years I found (personally) that gmane wasn't a very usable mirror (but exposed to many other indexers in general). In my searches Nabble and Markmail come up much more often and more pleasant to use.
Nabble can be allowed to do 2-way posts and is also embeddable, nice light theme.
