Bill, I'm a bit ignorant here - I am not sure what the AWS Extended Client is. The SQS processors make use of the client in the 'aws-java-sdk-sqs' library.
If you are keen on developing a custom processor, though, does it make more sense to instead just contribute an update to the existing processor so that others can benefit from the update as well?
