Blank extra-pages

Ever heard that, when dealing with long OO-documents, you can get some blank 
extra-pages randomly added before some inserted ".jpg" images (that is, not a 
precisely reproducible behavior)? 
Is it a known OO-Writer's oddity? Any fixing action to suggest?
