I don't sit in front of my PC, but from memory follow the next steps:
1. Open a new document
2. From the Styles and Formatting menu (F11) modify the default font.
3. Under the File menu there is an entry Templates
Save the document as a template and set it to default
I can't remember the exact sequence, but it should be obvious if you se the
options.
