I downloaded and installed Open Office and it was installing fine until it started to install the Microsoft Visual C++ and then it wasn't responding and I couldn't get out of it and it affected my antivirus which wouldn't work anymore. I ended up doing a system restore to rectify the situation. Does Open Office need Microsoft Visual C++ I really want to use Open Office but is it compatible with Windows 8.1 and is there a certain procedure of how it should it be installed? Thanks, Grace
