Well, gee, mailing lists are supposed to work like that. To cope with the volume of email -depending on email clients used-, you can create a filter to have mailing lists messages moved automatically to a subfolder inside your INBOX, not clutter your inbox main view. And you´re not supposed to read ALL messages anyway, just browse the discussion subjects and click on anything that interests you -if you think you can reply to someone else´s question, as I did here-.
