In most cities around the world, one can find a locksmith that specialises in opening safes. LibreOffice 3.4.4 and lower uses Blowfish algorithm; LibreOffice 3.4.5 and higher uses AES-256; As far as I know, the only way to decrypt AES-256, when the password is unknown, is brute force. My now out of date blog on the topic can be found https://libreoffice-environment.blogspot.com/2015/03/libreoffice-apache-openoffice-password.html >> It will not let me make a new copy. Maybe the user pulled that stunt of hand-editing "protected = true". No password being used. If that is the case, then the fix is another hand edit. It is a stupid hack, that fails far more often that it works, but when it works.... Probably its best use, is as an April Fools Day prank. jonathon --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
