I read that MacOS 28 is expected in 2027, so it gives some time yet.
LibreOffice apparently has Apple Silicon support now, so it's available
if OpenOffice isn't.

Apple has announced that starting with MacOS 28 (currently at 26) Rosetta will
no longer be available, so OpenOffice will not run on Macs with Apple Silicon
chips.

Does anyone know of plans to make OpenOffice compatible with Apple Silicon
chips in the absence of Rosetta?

my plan is:
- fix regressions in 4.2
- Win 64 bit version with 4.3
- jump to newer sdks for Windows and MacOS in Version 5
However i am currently trying to improve the build environment, which are our
tools that build AOO.
Damjan is working on Win 64, but its still crashing. Apache OpenOffice has some
fancy way of connecting programming languages, and that is not easy to migrate
to 64 bit.
Once we have solved both issues the target Version for Silicon is unblocked.
Currently i can not say if we will meet the deadline or not. Build environment,
Win64 and support for sillicon are major changes.
All the best
Peter
