Paula, it sounds like you might have been always saving your files wherever OpenOffice dafaults to. That would give you the feeling of having lost them if the program fails. Can I suggest you play with the location of saving your files so that you know how to find it via the 'My Computer' icon? It would lower your stress levels once you get used to it.Hi
I hope you can help us. We've been using openoffice.org.1.1.1 for nearly a year now. Today my husband turned on the computer and got this message:
openoffice.org cannot be started due to an error in accessing the OpenOffice.org configuration data Please contact your system administrator The following internal error has occurrred: GetStorage, name:"NoContent!
Please help because all our farm records have vanished.

And if everyones advice on how to fix this is too tricky, then:
a. use the search function in windows to locate your files, you could just search for all .sxw files if you saved them as .sxw files.
b. put the files somewhere you can easily find them again later.
c. uninstall OpenOffice
d. download the current version 1.1.4
e. unzip it
d. install it
problem solved - you've got the current version - you're 'future proof by knowing how to get to and move your files independent of what programs do
Good luck, Duncan
