[users] Copying Open Office documents to emails

My open office documents do not seem to want to be copied. I have 
highlighted text I have wanted copied to put in an email and when I get 
to paste the document into the email nothing happens. Can someone 
explain to me why this happens and is there a way to get it copied and 
pasted?
