Thx for the suggestions, but the selected cells are still black. First
I tried creating new spreadsheets -- no change. Then I did the re-boot
thingy -- still no change. Guess that leaves me with downloading a new
version???? Maybe 1.1.4?? I wont try to download using my phone
connection;
maybe I can find someone local who will do a high speed download to disk for
me.
In the meantime, my spreadsheets will not have color backgrounds. Ron
