sorry the problem was a bit murky wasn't it. The problem: When using WebCT, a document within the course used to open with Wordpad.exe. Since installing OpenOffice the documents that used to open with Wordpad.exe now will not open at all. An HTTP 303 error pops up and she can not Save to Disk with this WebCT since it just grabs the main .htm page.
The version of OpenOffice is: Latest, downloaded on Friday 28 Jan, 2005. I will write to her and see if I can get the exact download file's name. The OS is WinXP Home with Service Pack 2 There is a "Security" check box in the config page for OpenOffice, I have not tried removing that as it was in place by default and she has since uninstalled OO anyway. Still, I want her to have it so she can open spreadsheets, "text" documents, and Powerpoint presentations, without having to buy MS OfficeXP (or any other flavor of MS Office.)
