As you are not subscribed, you may not have seen:
The closest thing I've read to a solution to this problem is this: If you still have Publisher on your system you can try exporting to html and then open the html with OOo. But my impression is that Publisher makes crappy html so I have no idea how much hassle that would be and how good results you could expect.
