Indeed, follow the instructions: if correctly installed, you should find whitin de list of supported formats WordPerfect as one of them.

Look at wp.openoffice.org
I installed libwpd and writerfilter, and I read WP files verry well.
I am using Debian unstable with OOo1.1.4 and 1.9.65, both are able to
read WP.
In fact I installed the filters with OOo version 1.1.2, and since then I
never had to install them again.

Dear list,

- 1st.: does OOp v2 read WordPerfect (8,9) as it comes?

if not, I've tried to dowload the (the standalone) command line tool
wpd2sxw - but couldn't compile it. Downloaded libwww from source - and
failed to compile, missed some gnome lib -that is(!) installed on my
system, SuSE9.2.

Is there a fixed RPM for SuSE9.2 - or a short howto get a standard
sequence of "./configure, make, make install" to run?

I've got 10000s of WP files that I need to convert so that they are
readable - never mind formatting - by OOo. I'm converting an entire
company to Linux/OOo and this is the last showstopper to overcome.

Thank you in advance!

Hi,

- and thank you for the answer. As I understand from your answer I can install something into OOo - and so I don't need to compile myself. I'll look into that site again.
