Maybe You can try disconnect from the LAN and use as standalone workstation and see if OOo works with the 10.10.2.x subnet setting - or if it quits working in both ip settings.
Just a try, to see what happens.

That certainly isn't an answer I was expecting. It is, indeed, weird behavior. However, just because network configuration wasn't intentionally changed doesn't rule out the possibility that a change occurred.

Are you certain that all machines on the 10.10.0.x subnet will not start OOo? What happens if one is connected to the other subnet? What happens if OOo is re-installed on one of the computers where it has failed?

As for your question about OOo trying to connect to another system on startup, unless you're using a client/server architecture which you say isn't the case, I don't believe that happens.

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.

It started yesterday. We didn't change any network configuration and software update.

Each Mandrake computer runs OpenOffice from its harddisk. That means there isn't any OpenOffice server or client.

Does OpenOffice try to connect somewhere when it's starting?

You don't say when this behavior started. That is, has it always been this way or did it begin after some change to the network, update to the OS, or other?

That doesn't stop me from making a wild guess that the problem is with your network and not OpenOffice. Specifically, I suspect you are using a server / workstations installation and that the OOo server is installed on a computer in the 10.10.2.x subnet. For whatever reason, the workstations on the 10.10.0.x subnet are unable to communicate with the server on the other subnet.

As I said, this is only a wild guess, but it is where I would start looking.

Hi,

I've a strange OpenOffice launch problem.

We'we got two different sub networks on a same floor.

These are 10.10.0.x and 10.10.2.x.

We are using Mandrake 10.0 Official with OpenOffice 1.1.0.

( I know we have to update OpenOffice to a newer version... )

The problem is OpenOffice 1.1.0 doesn't run with an IP addresss which is belogs to 10.10.0.x network. But when we connect the same pc to 10.10.2.x network OOo works without a problem.

All IP addresses have Internet connection.

Have you got any idea about this OpenOffice problem?

Thanks....
