I understand.
Just that I don't think that somebody from the company provided the program will pay attention to end users willing to migrate to openoffice.org and starting changing the source of the software. Anyway, I'll phone them today.
I just want to say that in my expirience I've worked with a lot of software exporting data to Microsoft Office and its a good idea to improve the OpenOffice.org if this is possible of cource in that direction.
The features 'excel to openoffice.org calc' and 'winword to openoffice.org writer' are a good idea, but none of them works for me.
Thanks to all.
I didn't want to be rude, by suggesting that you do not have acces to the code and such (my previous post). It was just my interpretation from the moment I read your original message, and I saw some others having the idea that you could adjust the programm. Well, this is the users-list, and not the dev-one, isn't it ;-)
Anyway: good job that you do call the company.
The problem you experience is a serious one, and you are for sure not the only person, being confronted with it.
It will do the development of OOo a real lot of good, if software comps do make their products working with OOo. Of course a lot is coming up from the open source-communities, however if a migration to OOo means that an organisation has to change other software at the same moment, it is an extra step.
Though I haven't taken time yet, to read a lot of the marketing project (http://marketing.openoffice.org), I can imagine that they address the problem to some extend.
Succes with the software company. I might help, if you are able to mention other program's that did made the step to support OOo, and/or if you can find other users (forums...) that share your wish.
Kind regards,
Cor
