Oit is a postscript printer.

As to Jim's problem, I think he has a local problem which I have
discussed with him but he indicated to me that he would have to live
with the problem until he can replace his OOo release.

I have long time since replaced my OO with one which passed all the md5sum checks.

It still won't print to the default printer.

As I recall you are using Linux. So is your printer postscript capable
or something else such as a bubble-jet? If the latter, then you have to
set up a printer that converts the OOo postscript to whatever your
printer likes. Most recent releases of Linux use CUPS which can be
configured to do this then all you have to do is point OOo to the
printer that does the conversion.

It's the same HP 882C that I've been using for the last five years, with no trouble until a month ago.

Did you do an upgrade about that time? I found
http://computing.ee.ethz.ch/sepp/ghostscript-8.11-ds/Devices.htm#HP_ijs
on the web and believe if might offer some relief.

At the time the problem started, I had made no changes to the OS.
