  On a busy users list like this it is always better to either make your 
question obvious or (even better) keep your emails short - otherwise people 
ignore them (too much else to read).

Not exactly sure if its what you need but try : Insert -> Special Character ?

I think that this normally happens when the appropriate fonts are not 
available.
