And before typing the make -f etc. command in step 6 you should run ./configure in the writerperfect directory.

You do not need to configure anything in the writerperfect directory. The configure has to be executed in the OOo SDK directory. BEWARE: SDK detects USER/WORKSTATION installation. One has to give it the NETWORK installation path if one wants the build to work :-)


It is true that one can build the writerperfect directory in the usual way:
./configure
make
make install

Nevertheless, this gives a standalone converter wpd2sxw. WriterPerfect and wpd2sxw share a big part of their code.

Note that if you installed OOo as a system wide install (with the -s option of
setup) then your OOo installation is not in your home folder but under
/opt/OpenOffice.org1.1.4.

With the "-net" option ;-)
