Thank you for your answer. As I have not entered any paths the problem is probably caused as you wrote.
My question: Where do I have to enter paths and how ?
Can I use the instalation program that has been written originally for OpenOffice.org 1.0 ?

Please check that you have correctly entered the paths to known working programs in Tools > Options OpenOffice.org > External programs. If these are incorrect or missing you will get the error you describe.
