I am not sure what you mean by "... I don't know whether I'll bother anymore. " If that means not offering a little help, then you are not helping.
I have just started learning how to use OOo. I have tried MS to not too much success, then Corel Word Perfect to a better success. But the learning curve on OOo is steeper. I would guess it is basically that I understand a little from the other WPs, but I think mainly from being able to ask on this forum when I become very frustrated in all that I have tried. I am a neophyte compared to you. If I have something to offer to help you- then look at what you have to offer me and those similar to me- very much.
