Choose Tools - Cell Contents

AutoInput Toggles the AutoInput function, which automatically completes
entries, based on other entries in this column. The column is scanned up
to a maximum of 2000 cells or 200 different strings.

So, my starting question has driven me to a new discovery but hasn't got
an answer ;(
The =REPT("-";cell("width")) formula would be all right if it calculated
"width" in retation to the character within quotes instead of being tied
to "0"s!
