I think that the beta version was indeed mislabeled 1.9.79. However it is now
labelled as beta on the download sites.
Note however that I think the code is exactly the same as that for 1.9.79.

The beta candidate is technically 1.9.79-1.
I do not know about the Beat which is now available.
