I have searched the group and have not found this topic.

MS Word has the ability to conditionally merge a "bookmark" (this is a named section of another document)into a mail merge document based on the values in fields from the merge data table.

For example: If field 2="Test" then merge paragraph 15 from the secondary reference document into the maul merge document.

The condition statement can be nested "If"s so one could look at a number of combinations of values from different fields in order to "decide" which paragraphs to merge.

Instead of just merging data from the merge table you can merge sections of another document based on the data from the merge table.

That said, I have been trying to figure out how to do that in OOo.

I was looking for the ability to attach a macro to a merge field event or something like that. The macro would examine that data I was interested in and then go to the other document and search for the "named" section of that second document and then insert it into the merged document. Any ideas?
