I will try to guide you through the process.
1. Go to http://qa.openoffice.org/
2. Login using boxes at the top right of the page
3. You may find yourself on My pages, in which case, click the back
button on your browser which will take you back to qa.
4. At this point, hold down the Shift key and click the
Refresh/Reload button your browser. This will force a reload of
the qa page and will update your cache.
5. Look in the frame on the left of the page and click membership.
6. On the membership page you will see a link offering a qa role,
click it.
7. Fill-in your info and wait for any confirmation stuff.
8. I suggest that while you are still logged in and are waiting for
any role confirmationm that you join, at least, the dev mailing
list.
