i'm not sure if this will help, but Calc uses Default style for the headers and footers. if you wish to use a different style (font) for these elements, you should create a new style (ie. Default1) for the contents of the spreadsheet and modify the Default style to suit your needs.
That's the default. But you can also just select the header text in the header/footer dialog and use the "A" button to choose a different font just for that text.
