Thanks for that. I'll try it.

Is the 'text box' icon used for HTML documents?

The 'Help" menu give the following definition:
Text Box

Creates a text box. Text boxes are fields in which the user can enter text. In a form, text boxes display data or allow for new data input.

Do I have to create a form first?

Thanks again

Bernard

What I call a "text box" has an icon on a flyout of the main left hand toolbar under 'Show Form Functions' about five icons from the top. Its icon is 'abl'. When the cursor hovers over it it displays 'Text Box'.

This helps a lot. Just go up one icon on that toolbar and select "Show Draw Functions" instead of "Form Functions." Select the big "T" on the flyout menu. You'll be able to do what you want with that selection.
