I just tried it with my versions of PuTTy and OO.o with no trouble at all.
You say you are right clicking to insert into the PuTTy Window? That is how I do it, without difficulty. I am using OO.o 1.9.69 and a PuTTy development snapshot from Nov 2004. There is a later release that fixes a bug that does not affect me.
