First I would recommend that new or less experienced users take advantage of http://documentation.openoffice.org/ THere you will find to complete user guide, one as a single file and the other in smaller bits, HOW-TOs, and references to 3rd Party resources such as ooomacros.org et cetera. I would also like to point out that OOo documents can be emailed as PDF files. Everyone downloads Acroread or one of the other PDF readers so that should probably help.
