Hi all, I'm writing this mail to say how sad i'm about
the new and expected release of the new OOo Version.
All of us know about the papularity of the KDE desktop
and how good and stable it is, and without doubts it
is the most used in the world. So my first question
is: Why OOo is giving priority for the gnome
integration? Is it becouse GTK/GNOME is better to
work, is well written, and documented? I dont think
so, the GTK sounds for me as a joke, the first time i
tried to program with that i laugh a lot when i should
write things like, gtk_window_set_default_size (three
parameters here) or gtk_window_set_resizable(two
parameters here). Is well known that Window Systems is
better uunderstood, and well written when using OO
staff, somebody could tell "GTK uses a OO aproach", so
why not use c++. I'll not fucus this mail in
stability, becouse a bilieve that a open project have
good chances to be stable enough. The QT and KDE is
well documented, written and use OO aproach and tools
(for real), the kde.openoffice.org project is another
joke the mailling lists received only spams and some
members prefer discuss about the success of installing
the kde 3.4 in their boxes. Why the OOo project dont
do this project works and do some real work, and
update, and discuss what they have done. I trully
trust in the OOo project, but it cannot do this kind
of work to promote one or another desktop, be it GNOME
or KDE, and i wanna believe that i'm wrong. And this
atittude, for me is just to promote GNOME in this
dirty fight between KDE and GNOME. Free deevelopers
must unite their forces to come to standard, or if not
to give the same chances of different tools to have
success.
