alternativly if you export to pdf, then you can just take a pdf format file in and print that, straight off, and that will embed fonts etc and reduce any chances of problems with fonts.
The above procedure is pretty much standard amoung applications includin g word which can save as different formats. eveb mozailla mail client has it, for saving as HTML or text.
I don't think a school would allow you to bring in binaries, as you could infect the system with a virus, or similar
surely they can set aside one computer, to run some version of open office, for printing these files.
Of course you could perhaps use a bootable cd version of linux to boot into that run open office and then use linux to mount a thumb drive and print files that way, it may need some hacking so it sees the printer, However I would ASK PERMISSION FIRST, I am sure technicians know about linux etc or even some teachers may.

That Adobe document appears to be talking about the Linux version, which just about every live CD I have already includes. My problem is at school, where they only run Windows XP and they only use MS Word as their word processor. Now I have been told OO Write can save documents in Word formatted files. Still, it would be interesting to run OO off a thumb drive, the Windows version of OO.
Really? I see the first section deals with Windows.
Thanks for your report. Too bad it wasn't useful.
