Having installed V1.0 a couple of years ago I know enough about the writer and calc apps, but I am enthusiastic about Base to replace my use of Access. However, in working with Base I continue to receive an error message saying I need to install a Java Runtime Environment. I checked Java installation dialog screen and there is no Java pointer. Looking further, I found a Java folder within Windows (XP) containing three folders: Classes, Packages and trustlib. Within Packages there is a Data folder with lots of files. I don't know what file/folder will install the required JRE. Without the JRE I can more or less edit tables but cannot print and every time I reopen a table it wants to recover all the edits.
If this is not the right forum, where should I send/post this type of inquiry?
Thanks everybody for all you are doing, I believe I may be able to help too once I become more familiar with the new features.
