This is an ongoing, very frustrating problem I've had over many builds. Of late, autocorrect was working fine. I rebooted this morning, to find that once again it had dropped many (but not all) of my additions, and despite the ability to OK my way out of its dialog was not accepting new ones.

This was working perfectly since I installed this build and up till yesterday. No change in Path, or anything else as far as I can remember, has been made. OOo has apparently done this on its own.

This morning I first opened a spreadsheet, then from there I opened a text document, where I discovered the problem.

If anyone has any input on this, I've filed a bug at http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=42159

Here's a thought, but based only on rumor, hearsay, innuendo and deeply held bias:

IIRC, XP can do automatic updates without user intervention and/or knowledge of the event. If this is so, and I assume there is a log somewhere you can check, possibly updates of this kind explain a lot of the instances that appear on this list similar to yours. After all, the only applications M$ would care about not corrupting are their own and they don't do such a good job on those, either.

Not on this computer does MS have that kind of authority. And I've done no manual Windows updating in over a week.

Better that we spread *content* with OOo, which frankly has been waning around here lately.

Thanks for your input. I didn't know others were having similar problems.
