Dear Sir,
I've been using OpenOffice (1.1.0) very happily for a couple of years.
Today, I have been using some clean-up software to remove unused DLLs. Afterwards, I tried to use OpenOffice, but it came up with an error message saying that "unicows.dll" could not be found.
When I checked the backup directory into which the unused DLLs were placed, this particular DLL was not there.
A quick search found it in the OpenOffice\program directory - presumably just where it should be.
Not knowing what else to do, I downloaded the latest version (1.1.4) from your website. Then, before installing this, I tried to uninstall the version already in place (using the Windows 98 uninstall facility). No joy - it told me that it couldn't do the job since "unicows.dll" was missing!
So I then tried to install the new version, but came up with the same error message about "unicows".
Any thoughts from anyone?
Many thanks for any help you can give.
Steve
